The $1.5 billion minimum settlement is funded by Anthropic. The first $300 million is deposited in an interest-bearing escrow account. The next $300 million is due within five days of final approval. An additional $450 million is due before September 25, 2026 with a final $450 million payment before September 25, 2027. Interest is already accruing and will be factored into the final payout.
