The West Texas Book & Music Festival is now accepting reservations for the Hall of Texas Authors as part of the West Texas Book & Music Festival in Abilene. It is sponsored by Friends of the Abilene Public Library and the Abilene Reporter-News.
The main event is Saturday, September 25, at the Abilene Civic Center. The Hall of Texas Authors provides an opportunity for authors, publishers, and booksellers to display and sell books. Authors pay a small fee and then keep all the money from their book sales. Cost for an author is only $20 for half of an eight-foot table or $40 for a full table. Booth space is also available.
Many Texas authors will speak or participate in panel discussions that day. Featured authors include David Davis, Jan Peck, Scott Zesch, Paulette Jiles, Bobby D. Weaver, Steve Huddleston, Carlton Stowers, Mike Cox and Mike Cochran. Attend writer workshops and featured author presentations on Saturday morning. The events are free. Tickets to the Boots & Books Luncheon are $30 and should be reserved in advance. Expect a sellout.
