This month we begin releasing articles from our “Members Only” Market Update under the News & Articles tab. In following months, we will release key Market Update articles six months after publication. The data and information is of value to the publishing community and we welcome you to read the stories. One of the new articles is “A Good Index Turns a Book into a Library” by WPN member Matt Weilert, with detailed instructions and illustrations of how to create a great index. This is especially important for nonfiction ebooks with the ability to link directly to resources and more information. The second article, “Narrative Voice: A great one will sell your book” is by literary agent Toni Lopopolo on what type of books New York editors are asking for now.
Eight authors and other WPN members will represent WPN in Booth 201 at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the weekend of April 18 and 19. If you are in Southern California then, please stop by and say hello. Our new Catalog of Members’ Books and Services will be available in the booth. This is an exciting event–two days and over 150,000 book lovers on the campus of the University of Southern California. Many free writers’ panels are available for every genre, plus comedy presentations.
The WPN Market Update for March will cover ways to get more online exposure for your books. This is for members only—another good reason to join us if you aren’t a member.
