Gwen Cooper is the author of Homer’s Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned About Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat as well as the upcoming My Life in a Cat House: True Tales of Love, Laughter, and Living with Five Felines, among others.
Anyone who can live with five kitties is certainly committed to improving the lives of cats. Gwen regularly works with Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary—and then came Hurricane Florence. While the sanctuary was spared a lot of the damage done in other areas, hurricane-related repairs are needed. Gwen switched her original plan to this one, in order to help:
“My Life in a Cat House will be in stores on October 30. I ask that you call your local bookstore (whether it’s a tiny indie or a big chain) and pre-order a copy (or more than one—they make purrfect holiday gifts)! Then all you have to do is go to the bookstore and pick up your pre-ordered copy between October 30 and November 4 ,” she says.
Please call an actual bookstore rather than pre-ordering online, if possible. “Amazon is already super-excited about the book,” she says. “Now to get bookstores excited as well; that way, they’ll sell more copies and raise more money for blind cats like Homer.” Support brick-and-mortar bookstores!
A great book for a great cause that saves lives. What could be better?
