Imagine 2200: Climate fiction for future ancestors

A new writing contest called Imagine 2200: Climate fiction for future ancestors. Submissions close April 12 on the submittable portal.

From Fix, Grist’s creative agency and network of climate leaders. The mission is to make the story of a better world so irresistible, you want it right now. Grist is an award-winning independent-media nonprofit working toward a planet that doesn’t burn and a future that doesn’t suck.

In the contest’s inaugural year, they’re calling for short stories (3,000 to 5,000 words) that envision a just, regenerative future. What will the world look like in the year 2200, or anywhere between then and now?

The first-, second-, and third-place winners will be awarded $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respectively, and nine additional finalists will each receive a $300 honorarium. Winners and finalists will be published in a stunning, immersive digital collection on the Fix website.
