As part of National Poetry Month, open to students from grade 3 to 8 throughout the region, a recitation contest for young poets will take place Wednesday evening, April 2, at the Camarillo Library. Each entrant will recite a poem either written by the student or a favorite selection that he or she enjoys, by a published poet. No song lyrics are allowed. The maximum time for the reading is two minutes. Registration onsite, begins at 6:00 p.m. The event starts at 6:30 and should last 60 to 90 minutes.
