Presentation of Short Story Contest winners will be also be made
A very special evening event is planned for the first meeting of the Ventura County Writers Club January 11 at their new location inside Borders Books on the Esplanade in Oxnard. Mary Rose Betten, retired character actress, poet, playwright, comedian, and teacher, will be giving one of her acclaimed sessions on “Reading Aloud.” Attendees are encouraged to bring one page of a work in progress, be it fiction, nonfiction or poetry, to read at the meeting and receive Ms. Betten’s trained analysis of the work.
The club had to move its meeting location to the Oxnard Borders Books because of the closing of Borders Books in Thousand Oaks. All attendees are reminded of the new location in the Esplanade Shopping Center, just south of the 101 Freeway off Oxnard Blvd.
